For Mom, the 1st Writing Instructor
A moment of clarity with my mom, to whom Bella is dedicated.
This short video was shot more than a year ago, yet still resonates for me, and I hope will for you as well.
The long-ago photo shows Ceil Feldman about to become Ceil Piacente.
Happy Mother’s Day, mom.

Thanks, Jenny; this is my favorite “mom” quote. My mother said to me, ‘If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.’ Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso.”

I love stories about mom’s. When I was a young stay-at-home mom we had a book club called The Oak Drive Women’s Book Club and Elucidation Society. It was a breeding ground for forward-thinking women.
